ABSTRACT

A seed is actually a dormant plant that contains a protective covering, a living embryo, and a portion of storage material. Some agricultural seeds (sterus domestic seeds, cereal domestic seeds) do not germinate even in the presence of suitable conditions (humidity, heat, oxygen), and this process is called dormancy. This kind of action in plant seeds is a great gift of Allah (SWT); because the seeds do not germinate prior to the occurrence of adverse conditions so that the young and delicate plants do not perish due to uneven conditions. In the descriptive and bibliographic research under the title of preventing the causes of solid cover on seed dormancy, seed germination is the first growth of plants, which should be taken seriously. If the seeds are soaked in water and they do not absorb water, it means that there is a solid seed coat. With significant methods (smoothing and heating the skin, breaking dormancy with hot water and high temperature, eliminating dormancy with hormones and solvents) we can remove the solid seed coating in order to prepare it for germination.
